In the charity’s aim to help people into - or back into - work, Kent Enterprise is providing a free venue for those that would like to learn to ride or return to cycling. The free two hour training sessions are offered by Sustrans and KCC Safer Mobility Team ties in with the charity’s ethos of improving health and wellbeing for staff, volunteers and service users to improve their outcomes. A selection of bikes have kindly been donated by Herne Bay Town Partners for participants who do not own a bike.
Matt Bembridge, Sustrans said “Among the small businesses involved with our Smarter Choices Project to encourage greater sustainability in travel, I have found the people working for and with the Trust to be some of the most engaged and open to the behavioural changes that lie at the core of our work.”
Mirelle Frost, Kent Enterprise Trust, said, “We are delighted to be able to offer people as wide a range of opportunities as possible to assist them in employability.”
We have 6 different training sessions available on Tuesday 9th February 2016, these are Starting to Ride, Return to Cycling, Confidence Booster, Advance Cycling, Bike Dr – Bicycle Maintenance and Active Travel Information session. These training sessions will be run by KCC and Sustrans.
