MT a work experience participant at KEH, 23 years old with Asperger’s syndrome and has been unemployed for two years. Has never been employed but has a master’s degree in military history. Worked on the assets list with LS, gaining confidence and learnt to interact with the others in the teamand has now become a volunteer at Age UK.
“I believe that my time at the KET has been a valuable aid as it has allowed me to add to my already existing strategies, which I use to cope in any given situation, to include workplace etiquette and workplace efficiency. It has built up my confidence by acting as a testing ground for skills that I need to hold a Job.”
TG is a volunteer at Stream Walk and is in the 18-25 age group with a learning difficulty and a mental health issue which means he will probably never experience real employment. He has been with us for six months. He has now moved on to attend Brogdale as his gardening skills, team work and responding to instructions has developed whilst being with us.
